Handling Abrasive Materials Is Straightforward
Thu, 04/23/2009 - 1:16pm
For handling highly abrasive materials, the straight-line aggregate diverters from Vortex Valves are built with abrasion-resistant wear liners and a removable access door to ease inspection and maintenance. Also known as K-style diverters, they can handle sand, gravel, whole grains, coal and other difficult-to-convey materials. There is no need for a seal across the closed chute, and rubber seals provide positive material shutoff at the leading edge of the bucket. Standard gate construction allows for 180°F (82°C) service and modifications for temperatures up to 600°F (315°C). The gravity flow conveying can be applied to diverter material flowing from 1 source to 2 destinations, and comes with a wide selection of round or square inlets or outlets. Sizes range from 6" to 18" (150 to 450 mm). These vortex aggregate diverters are available in an A style or can be customized.
