These valveless piston pumps are frequently used to perform critical fluid control functions of fuel cell and reformer operations and are well-suited for the precision addition of DI water into both liquid and gaseous fuels. A second critical application is the recirculation of the pure water created by the fuel cell. Accuracy and reliability of the humidification in this function is important to the operation and efficiency of the fuel cell. These pumps have also met the requirements in liquid fuel metering (typically methanol or a methanol/DI water mix) into the reformer, and they can also provide DI water addition into the steam reformer. For R&D and prototyping, these variable speed pumps provide extreme flexibility of flow range and process control capability, and they feature both mechanical stroke volume adjustment and pump speed adjustment. The units can be integrated into process control devices via a 4-20 mA interface.
