Solar-Powered Groundwater Remediation
Abanaki Corp. introduces its solar-powered groundwater remediation system to monitor wells typically located in remote areas where standard power is unavailable. Moreoever, the company says that the system integrates:
- The capacity to remove up to 12 GPH of oil from water.
- A PetroXtractor belt oil skimmer, which is equipped with a 12-VDC motor, solar panel, timer, battery, battery box and control components.
- Wiper blades that scrape oil from the belt after the skimmed oil is elevated to 100 feet or more, and discharge it into an oil concentrator.
- An oil concentrator (or small gravity separator) that removes any trace water from the skimmed oil and allows the waste oil to flow out into a user-provided collection container.
- A float switch to automatically turn off the oil skimmer when the user-provided container is full.
- Various belt types from which to choose, depending upon the viscosity of oil being collected.
- A profile that can be installed in well casings with as small as a 2-inch inside diameter.
- An environmentally friendly and readily available renewable energy source.
- The flexibility to be configured with the basics all the way up to vapor-tight units.
