Chemical Prices at Center of Report
A looming crisis over chemicals poses a threat to the U.S. economy, according to a new report released by AMR Research, the National Association of Manufacturers, and its Manufacturing Institute. The report says the increase in the cost and availability of chemicals will prompt 25 percent of U.S. manufacturers to move some production overseas; the average amount of production shifted will be 32 percent. The report is titled "The Hidden Backbone of U.S. Manufacturing" and is based on findings from a survey of 165 U.S. manufacturing companies. More information is available at www.amrresearch.com.
