Chemical Fire At Computer Chip Manufacturing Plant
PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix firefighters say nobody was injured in a fire at a manufacturing plant.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Tony Mure says hazmat crews responded Sunday morning around 9:30 a.m. to FlipChip International near 37th Street and University Drive.
Mure says chemicals and solvents ignited a small flash fire in a booth and 20 workers had to be evacuated.
Authorities say the cause is under investigation.
Mure says the company, which develops computer chips, had a fire protection system in place and that there is no risk or health concerns for the public.
