MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Tropical Storm Paul was weakening rapidly as it skirted a sparsely populated area of Mexico's Baja Peninsula, while Hurricane Rafael was expected to pass by Bermuda in the Atlantic, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Tuesday.

Paul, formerly a Category 1 hurricane, churned about 30 miles north-northwest of Cabo San Lazaro and was expected to continue moving near or over the coast on Tuesday or Wednesday, the center said in a public advisory.

The storm was moving north at 14 miles per hour (22 km per hour) with maximum wind speeds of 70 mph, the center said.
