PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) — A worker injured in a fire at a manufacturing plant in Mercer County has died.

Clarence Worrell suffered severe burns in the March 5 fire at Conn-Weld Industries in Princeton. Police and Conn-Weld tell media outlets that the 51-year-old Princeton resident died Monday at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Another worker who suffered burns remains hospitalized.

A third worker was treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries at Princeton Community Hospital and released.

State police have said a machine caught fire and then exploded during an attempt to extinguish the blaze.
