Huntsman Corp. names new CEO for Asia
Chemical manufacturer Huntsman Corp. said Thursday that it has appointed Anthony Hankins to the new role of CEO of its Asia Pacific business, which will be based in a new regional headquarters in Hong Kong.
The company said Hankin's appointment will help Huntsman expand in Asia, a region that already accounts for 25 percent of its revenue. The company makes an array of chemicals, from dyes to synthetic fibers used for auto parts.
Hankins is currently president of the company's polyurethanes division, and will keep that title when he transfers to his new job this year.
Huntsman, based in The Woodlands, Texas, said in a statement that Hankins will help the firm build relationships with local government agencies. He will continue leading the company's Polyurethanes division, which will move its head office to Hong Kong.
Shares of Huntsman fell 12 cents to close at $18.71.
