U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander Meets with ANGUS Chemical Company Employees
U.S. Representative Rodney Alexander and officials at ANGUS Chemical Company, a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, today issued the following statement after a recent visit to the ANGUS Sterlington manufacturing site.
â??We are delighted that Congressman Alexander was able to meet with employees and tour our manufacturing site to learn about the sustainable economic contributions and growth potential ANGUS Chemical Company offers to Louisiana,â? said Ernest Green, site leader, ANGUS Chemical Company.
Sterlington is currently the largest manufacturing site for ANGUS Chemical Company, employing more than 170 employees. The complex includes dedicated research and development facilities and contributes approximately $450 million to the local region each year.
â??In addition to buying and investing locally whenever possible, we also strongly believe in contributing to improve the quality of life in the community where we live and work,â? said Green. â??Thatâ??s why we are an Adopt-A-School Partner with Sterlington High and A.L. Smith Elementary schools, and a leading sponsor of the Process Technology Laboratory (PTEC) at Louisiana Delta College. Annually, we contribute more than $200,000 to the United Way and other community outreach programs.â?
â??Businesses like ANGUS are the engines that drive our stateâ??s economic growth. Todayâ??s visit showcases how Louisiana can step up to the plate when competing for new business growth opportunities. We canâ??t wait for economic recovery to find us; we need to charge forward and create opportunities for ourselves. Itâ??s important to showcase examples in our district that exemplify this spirit,â? said Representative Alexander.
