BERLIN (AP) -- Luxury car maker BMW AG says its global car sales were up 9.1 percent year-on-year -- the 11th consecutive increase -- with strong growth in China continuing to lead deliveries higher.

The company said Monday that it sold 119,982 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars last month. Sales for the year's first seven months totaled 816,014 cars -- a 12.5 percent rise.

July deliveries were up nearly 82 percent in China at 13,852 cars and BMW says its U.S. deliveries were up 10.1 percent at 23,390.

While overall sales of BMW brand cars rose 12 percent in July, Mini sales slid 5.4 percent ahead of upcoming model changes.

BMW reiterated its aim of boosting full-year sales by about 10 percent to more than 1.4 million vehicles.
