BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) -- Austrian vehicle distribution company Hoedlmayr International AG says it has signed a deal to distribute 56,000 cars for French-Romanian automaker Dacia-Renault.

A company statement released Tuesday says the cars will be transported from the Dacia-Renault plant in Mioveni, southern Romania to Austria, Luxembourg, France, Serbia and Montenegro.

Hoedlmayr will jointly work with French company Touax and Austrian company Wiener Lokalbahnen Cargo.

About 27,000 of the vehicles will be transported by rail. Transportation and distribution will take a week.

Hoedlmayr has had a joint venture with Romanian transport company Lazar International since 2002 and has logistical centers in another dozen countries. It transports 750,000 cars each year.
