Little Rock Could Lose Polymarin Plant

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- A wind energy company that announced in 2008 it planned a Little Rock factory with 630 employees is showing no signs of progress toward opening.

Polymarin Composites announced it would work with Wind Water Technology, which would also operate at the site south of Little Rock, adding another 200 jobs. Arkansas Business reported Monday that Polymarin has taken no further steps toward starting work at the plant, which is the site of a former Levi Strauss & Co. factory.

The paper says the industrial building is listed for sublease, which means it is available. Polymarin\'s local phone number has been disconnected.

Wind energy companies have struggled during the recession. The credit crunch shut down plans by many businesses planning wind energy ventures.
