To Produce SNOWTACK™ Water-based Tackifier Dispersions
COLUMBUS, Ohio – (May 3, 2010) - Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Inc., the leading global supplier of water-based tackifier dispersions for pressure sensitive adhesives, has completed construction of a new state of the art dispersion manufacturing unit at its production facility in Baxley, Georgia.
The new unit incorporates Hexion’s proprietary ROBUSTTM manufacturing process technology, which produces tackifier dispersions with finer particle size and virtually zero grit. Adhesive manufacturers incorporating these SNOWTACK™ tackifier dispersions in their formulations can produce high-quality adhesives that provide better coating characteristics and enhanced line performance when used on high speed coaters, resulting in fewer finished product defects.

For more than 20 years, Hexion’s SNOWTACK water-based tackifier dispersions have served as the standard for the tape and label market. These dispersions provide excellent stability and cohesive strength for a variety of pressure-sensitive and non-pressure-sensitive adhesive products based on both acrylic and rubber based emulsions. They provide an excellent balance of adhesion and cohesion to a wide range of substrates. All SNOWTACK dispersion grades are alkylphenol ethoxylate (APE) free and are a vital component for environmentally suitable adhesives.
