GM To Sell Natural Gas Commercial Vans

DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors Co. said Tuesday it will begin selling vans powered by compressed natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas to fleet and commercial customers starting later this year.

Vehicles available with the alternative-fuel technology will include the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans.

The initial vehicles will be available as 2011 models and will be built at GM\'s assembly plant in Wentzville, Mo., the automaker said.

On Monday, GM reported a first-quarter profit of $865 million, its first quarterly profit since 2007.
