Chart Industries To Lay Off 90 Workers
LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — A manufacturer that makes industrial heat exchangers in La Crosse says it will soon lay off 90 employees.
Chart Industries Inc. says the slow global economy is forcing officials to make the layoffs, which are effective Sept. 28. Layoffs earlier this year at the plant left about 120 employees without work.
Plant manager Joel Guberud says there will be about 304 employees left at the plant, which makes industrial heat exchangers that often go into natural gas, industrial gas and petrochemical plants.
Chart Industries is based in Garfield Heights, Ohio.
