Angle Valves for Chlorine Transport Applications

Midland Manufacturing has recently upgraded its A-713-ML Angle Valves for use in chlorine railcar and tanker truck transportation applications. Constructed of a Monel body material with Hastelloy C trim, they are soft-seated, self-centering plug-style valves that provide bubble-tight sealing and long service life with lower operating torques. The seat design permits self-draining, reducing the concern of trapping product in the body after closing the valve. Approved for use in railcar service by the Association of American Railroads, the valves are designed with live load valve stem packing that provides constant force on the packing rings. This live loading compensates for packing wear and thermal expansion and contraction of the packing when flashing in the valve occurs. The valves also incorporate secondary adjustable stem packing, providing improved stem sealing. The valve is also equipped with a replaceable outlet port that can be replaced without removing the valves from the tank car or truck.
