Oil Spill Detector

LEAKWISE Model 227 is a new sensor designed to detect oil spills on water even during rough sea conditions. Floating sensor will operate accurately with wave heights up to two meters, continuously monitoring water surface and detecting presence of a hydrocarbon layer as little as 0.3 mm in thickness. Sensor not only detects presence of minute traces of oil, but also can monitor on-line thickness changes in those situations where some oil is always present. System sensing units will survive extreme stormy weather conditions without damage. Detector is especially well suited for detection of oil spills at sea, near jetties or offshore loading/discharge terminals and from oil drilling rigs and platforms.
