Shaft Seals

Manufactured to fit individual applications, MECO shaft seals are designed to reduce vacuum dryer cycle times by up to 50 percent by effectively holding the vacuum. A patented mechanical drive system is frequently used to accommodate the significant thermal shaft growth and pressure-vacuum cycles common in this equipment. There is 6 mm or more of total runout/misalignment capacity in all seal designs. In addition, the seals accommodate significant radial shock loads. They are available fully split for quick installation without disturbing the bearing or drive assembly. Air- or gas-purged seal models consume very little purge medium. The seal face pressures are user-adjustable through a simple mechanism. Unlike traditional mechanical seals, MECO seal faces are soft, fault-tolerant, and almost impossible to break.
