Zero Shear Pump for Ceramic Applications

The SPX Zero Shear pump is especially suited for the handling of ceramic slip. It is extremely gentle, imparting virtually no shear, aeration, or agitation on the pumped product. The hose pump is virtually maintenance-free, with no seals to replace, no check valves to clog, and no rotors and stators to wear out. Pump life is unaffected by highly abrasive products because the pumped ceramic slip is completely contained within the tubing at all times. There is also no contamination of minute metal particles into the slip, practically eliminating rejected casts. Advanced hose technology enables the pump to generate tremendous suction lift and pump slip dependably over a long period of time. A self-loading design makes hose replacement quick and easy. The unit is an inherent metering pump with repeatability of 99.5 percent; it can run dry indefinitely without damage. There are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners, or glands to impede flow. In addition, the pump is reversible for back-flushing lines.
