Zeus Announces Major Expansion Initiative,
Citing Increasing Global Demand For Fluoropolymer Tubing
Zeus, Inc. has announced a multi-million dollar expansion of its 83,000-square-foot production facility in Aiken, S.C. The Company is investing in new extrusion and heat shrink production lines that will significantly increase capacity at the plant, which originally came on line in 1999, and ensure Zeus keeps pace with growing global demand for its products.
Commenting on the announcement, Zeus’ President and COO John Worley cites the recovering global economy and corporations’ growing emphasis on supplier accountability, zero defects quality and supply security. “The recent turnaround in the global economy has significantly increased demand for precision fluoropolymer extrusions in nearly all of our markets served. At the same time, companies have become increasingly selective in their choice of suppliers; they cannot afford any interruptions in their supply chains. This expansion of capacity also includes duplicating key production capabilities, which enhances Zeus’ position as a high quality, high volume global supplier of application-critical extrusions and eliminates the risk of single point sourcing,” Worley says.
Zeus currently operates eight production facilities on five campuses in the United States, most with redundant capabilities, allowing the Company to supply ongoing, large volume orders. The Company employs integrated quality control programs that include Cpk control processes to eliminate deviation, Six Sigma initiatives and statistical analysis as well as strategic supply solutions that include Kan Ban, vendor managed inventory and third party planning.
